Asador

BASQUE RESTAURANT
SINGAPORE

The ambition behind Asador was to capture the spirit of a northern Spanish family home whilst remaining distinctly contemporary, relaxed and elegant. Instead of hiding the kitchen, the team wanted to showcase their craft and allow the 66 diners the restaurant can accommodate to watch their dishes being prepared on the custom-built grill and in the oven brought from Spain.

To achieve this, large openings were created in the walls of the kitchen and the main dining space, allowing for glimpses of the kitchen from all parts of the restaurant. Across the 250 square meters of the restaurant, the finishes palette is kept natural, combining warm timbers with natural stone and simple textured plaster walls.

Accents of deep blue and rich maroon combined with handwoven leather and rope elements on the furniture add warmth and homeliness without distracting from the main attraction – authentic Basque cuisine.
