Dishoom

POP-UP CAFE
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM

Nestled along the picturesque banks of the River Thames, Dishoom Chowpatty Beach is London’s first and only Bombay café, inviting guests to experience a whimsical beach shack atmosphere inspired by the vibrant summer shores of 1930s Bombay. Spanning 150 sqm, this lively café serves up authentic Indian cuisine, capturing the essence of seaside delights and the warmth of Indian hospitality.

The interior concept draws from the iconic design of its sister outlet in Covent Garden but transforms it into a bustling beach retreat. The ethos of Jugaad—the Indian philosophy of resourcefulness and reusing—permeates the space, with crafted elements made predominantly from recycled and reclaimed materials. Hand-painted murals, vintage signage, and eclectic furnishings evoke nostalgia, infusing the café with a rich character and inviting atmosphere.

Originally conceived as a pop-up for three months, Dishoom Chowpatty Beach’s overwhelming popularity led to its extension for half a year. It has become a beloved destination where the spirit of India and the charm of London come together to create a truly unique dining experience, complete with the sounds of laughter and the aroma of spices filling the air.
